Starting therapy can appear daunting whether this is the first time or the fifth time. I think the important thing is that you “start”. Within my sessions, I try to create a space where my clients can feel comfortable, safe, validated, reassured and encouraged. I desire for individuals who choose to work with me to feel at ease communicating their worries, stressors, accomplishments, setbacks, disappointments, hopes and/or dreams.
My hope is that individuals leave our sessions feeling hopeful, inspired, challenged, goal-oriented and “ready to tackle” life transitions/issues. I also understand that the therapy journey is a process and that each individual will leave sessions differently, however they will be provided with “tools/strategies” to best support them. I communicate the importance with individuals that the “work” that is done “outside” of the session is just as valuable as the “work” we do within your sessions.
I offer a collaborative style with my client’s therapy journey which will consist of an exploratory/reflective, non-traditional, and strengths-focused approach. I utilize evidence-based interventions which can include cognitive-behavioral therapy and solution-focused.
My education/experience has afforded me the opportunity to provide support for children, adolescents, adults and families, for ten+ years. I have provided psychotherapy since 2021 to individuals which have experienced depression, anxiety, grief, self-esteem issues, life transitions, relationship concerns and unresolved trauma. I currently provide psychotherapy to individuals aged sixteen and up, via in person and/or telehealth.
